Data collected through surveys

Do you think that data collected through surveys is put to good use? Are they abused or shared with malicious actors? How ethical is this form of monetization?
 
In the pre screening before the surveys they always make it clear that the data provided will not be compromised. It will be a breach of agreement if they did otherwise and unprofessional.
 
Well it's not like most surveyors actually put in the correct data about themselves in the first place. But in any case, the survey sites are usually reliable when it comes to data protection.

You think people do fill in wrong information about themselves? I think there is a way survey sites counter this, by asking them to repeat the information they filled in earlier. So if they get it wrong they get disqualified.

I have not come across that kind of countermeasures, but even if it exists, you think that will meet some people by surprise? It is actually not that difficult to remember a wrong detail that is deliberately filled in some minutes ago.
 
What's the reason why the data are collected and paid for? It's not for cosmetics sakes. They are needed for product's improvement. They are very important.

Well if you have been there you will understand that it is hard to remember the wrong details. The only way like you said is if the respondent is doing so deliberately. That means they are writing down the wrong details that they input.
