Majority of survey sites these days require you to fill up a great deal of information about yourself in the screening. Not many people are convenient with putting their information online in that manner.

My opinion is that there is a level to the degree of anonymity that you can have. They need your details, that is why it is a survey.

They are likely selling those personal information to companies looking for such data. Information selling is a serious business which pays well.

But this is not only peculiar to surveys. I hear companies like Meta do this as well, and this is like a breach to our privacy.

You can just build an online reputation and stick to it. You don’t have to use your own personal details, they just want to be sure you are being honest which you can still achieve without compromising your details.
